DOLTON, Ill. (WBBM Newsradio) – Authorities in south suburban Dolton are searching for two missing one-month-old twin boys and their 17-year-old mother, issuing an endangered missing person advisory as concerns grow for their safety.
Police said Jaylen and Jayden Atkinson were last seen early Sunday near East 146th Street and Shepard Road, along with their mother, Zarreya Atkinson.
Officials say the infants, who each weigh about five pounds and measure roughly 19 inches long, were recently discharged from the hospital and require special care.
Authorities warned that all three may be in danger and believe they could be with another adult.
Illinois State Police activated the advisory at the request of the Dolton Police Department, asking the public to help locate the family.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to call 911 or contact the Dolton Police Department.
