(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Round Lake man is charged with punching the mother of their newborn baby after an argument in her hospital room.
Authorities said the assault stemmed from what to name their child, the Lake County News-Sun reports. Tevin Hoskins allegedly punched the mother in the head, causing a cut that required two stitches.
Highland Park police arrested him Monday after the incident at Highland Park Hospital.
Hoskins, 27, made his first court appearance Tuesday on two counts of domestic battery. A Lake County judge set his bond at $35,000.
The newborn was not in the room at the time of the battery, a prosecutor said.
