(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The president of the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police is furious that the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office dropped the charges against a migrant allegedly involved in a scuffle with police officers last week.

“The good old state’s attorney is at it again,” FOP President John Catanzara said in a video message posted to social media.

The three felony charges, he said, had been filed against a 21-year-old migrant who attacked several police officer outside the 8th District police station after she blocked traffic on 63rd Street.

Catanzara said his members deserve better.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office said they evaluated the case and determined they could not have won a conviction: “ … we concluded that we could not meet our burden of proof to move forward with the prosecution of this case.”
