(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Funeral arrangements have been announced for Ella French, the Chicago police officer who was fatally shot last weekend.
A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 18 at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rita’s, with a private interment.
Officer French, 29, was killed Aug. 7, and her partner was critically wounded, when a motorist opened fire on them during a traffic stop, police have said.
Two suspects from Chicago are being held without bond; a third man has been charged with buying a firearm and illegally handing it over to a felon.
French is survived by her mother and four brothers, police said.
