In May 2025, a Dodge Durango reported stolen was being tracked via GPS by the Chicago Police Department, and was in the parking lot of the Best Buy in Crystal Lake.
Crystal Lake Police say they located the unoccupied vehicle, and when Wayne Mikulski of Ogle County saw the police near the Durango, he ran away, but quickly was apprehended.
Police say Mikulski was carrying methamphetamine, and there were several credit cards in the stolen Durango that belonged to other people.
This week, Mikulski was sentenced to nine years in prison.
