Cedar’s Mediterranean recalled its product voluntarily, notifying the FDA that they may have mistakenly labeled their hummus, putting consumers at risk.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Tree Nuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” the company said in their announcement with the FDA.

The states where the product was distributed include Maine, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oregon, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arizona, Colorado, Wisconsin, Maryland, Ohio, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Missouri, Massachusetts, New York, Kansas, Alabama, Tennessee, and Minnesota.

The affected Cedar’s Organic Mediterranean Hommus is refrigerated and packaged in a 10 oz. plastic container with the UPC code: 044115403028. The sell-by date is Dec. 12, 2021.

There haven’t been any confirmed illnesses from the product so far, and Cedar’s Mediterranean Foods shared that this is the only product affected in the recall.
