The Illinois Secretary of State is urging drivers to renew their license plate stickers online.
Spokesman Henry Haupt says there are several advantages to renewing online. He says you can fill out the form more quickly than going to a driver services facility. He also says if you wait until the last minute to review, you don't have to worry about waiting for your new sticker to arrive in the mail.
"Even on the last day of the month, you can still renew their license plate sticker online at ilsos.gov." Haupt said. "simply print the receipt and keep that in your vehicle."
Haupt says by getting more people to renew their license plate stickers online, the hope is driver services facilities will be less crowded.
