Live Nation, Tinley Park concert venue sued over 2025 assault of teenage girl

Live Nation, Tinley Park concert venue sued over 2025 assault of teenage girl

Attorney Molly Wells speaks to the media on Tuesday

With summer concert season heating up, a local venue and major entertainment company are being taken to court for negligence in the alleged sexual assault of a young concertgoer last year.

"This was a failure."

The family of a 16-year-old girl is suing Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, as well as Live Nation, alleging inadequate security during a Wiz Khalifa concert last July, where a lawsuit says the victim, identified as Jane Doe, was sexually assaulted near a venue bathroom.

"The area that she was assaulted, the restricted area, was not actually restricted. It was a space that any patron, any predator could walk into, unchallenged. It wasn't a restricted area."

Attorney Molly Wells says there was no security or staffers monitoring surveillance cameras in the area of the assault, which occurred shortly after an adult the teen was with purchased alcohol for her, though that person is not named in the suit.

"Right now, there are parents and children buying tickets to concerts at amphitheaters and festivals. These parents deserve to know that the company that is taking their money is taking care of the children that are coming to their venue."

18-year-old Roman Basso of Frankfort has been charged with sexual assault in the case.
