Man arrested twice in two weeks for mail theft in Lincoln Park

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A man was arrested Monday for the second time in two weeks on accusations of stealing mail in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Gustavo Balleza, 36 is back in jail. This time, he was arrested on North Clark Street between Belden and Webster avenues, following a joint investigation by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Chicago Police Department, according to USPIS.

USPIS said found on him both times were fake ID's along with real stolen ones, burglary tools, and bank cards in the name of his victims.

He was also arrested November 7 as a suspect in 15 burglaries and mail thefts in Lincoln Park, and was on pre-trial release following this latest arrest.

Balleza is set to be charged with 13 felony counts of burglary.
