(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Rolling Meadows man will remain in custody in connection with an unusual robbery last week.

The man, 28-year-old David Wasinski, was charged with aggravated robbery and robbery, after the Thursday afternoon incident at a business along West Golf Road in Arlington Heights.

Police there said Wasinski entered the store and demanded cash from the register, all while aiming his finger like a gun — from his pocket.

The clerk complied, and Waskinski took off on a bicycle before he was stopped by officers nearby and suffered what investigators called a medical episode.

Wasinski was hospitalized for several days. He's now been released by the hospital and was ordered held without bail at the Cook County Jail.
