Man shot dead during armed robbery at gas station in south suburb

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police in the south suburbs say a man was shot and killed during an armed robbery early Thursday morning.

Lansing Police said the shooting happened after 4:30 a.m. at the Quik Trip gas station on 173rd and Torrence. Officials said the man who was killed was 53-year old Cameron Webster Sr.

Police said the shooting took place outside the gas station’s convenience store. Detectives are examining surveillance video as they try to figure out who was responsible for shooting Webster.
