
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A South Side man is in fair condition after he was shot by would-be robbers in his own garage.
Chicago police said at around 9:45 p.m. the 41-year-old man was backing his car into his home garage at 93rd and Jeffery when he was met by two unidentified, armed men. The suspects attempted to rob the victim and then shot at him when he got out of the car and tried to escape.
The victim suffered two gunshot wounds to the abdomen and was transported to University of Chicago Hospital.
The suspects fled on foot, police said.
The incident remains under investigation by Area Two Detectives. No one is in custody.
