This year's summer music and concert series will celebrate Millennium Park's 20th birthday

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – The city is preparing for another year of free concerts and movies at Millennium Park, this time to celebrate a special anniversary.

The artist lineup for this year's Summer Music Series features Corinne Bailey Rae, Terrace Martin, and Charlie Musselwhite, among others.

The Chicago Film Office will be hosting the Summer Film Series, which includes a double feature of E.T. and Jurassic Park, along with some awards-season favorites, like American Fiction and Barbie.

Millennium Park will also be the venue for a four-day 20th Anniversary Celebration in July, featuring performances from the Grant Park Orchestra and rapper, actor, and South Side native Common.

- Monday, July 1– Charlie Musselwhite, Ivan Singh
- Thursday, July 11 – Buscabulla, French Police
- Monday, July 15 – Seun Kuti, Tiny Desk Contest Winner
- Monday, July 22 – Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer & Zakir Hussain with Rakesh Chaurasia, and Arooj Aftab
- Monday, July 29 – GZA, Yaya Bey
- Monday, Aug. 5 – Protoje, Madison McFerrin
- Thursday, Aug. 8 – Corinne Bailey Rae, Terrace Martin with James Fauntleroy

The Summer Film Series takes place on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. from July 16 – Aug. 20. The screening will also celebrate one of the many independent film festivals that take place around the city.
