(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Abbott Health and Fitness Expo continues at McCormick Place, drawing thousands of people ahead of this weekend’s Chicago Marathon.
On display at some of the booths: running shoes, nutritional supplements, gadgets and sportswear, including items from Runur Athletics.
Lucas Hathaway said his company has developed the world’s first “no chafe” men’s running shorts.
“Our shorts are built with four pockets to go the distance of a marathon, and they’re backed with a full boxer liner so that they don’t chafe you at all,” he said.
Runners pick up their packets at the convention center. About 37,000 participants are expected in Sunday’s marathon.
