Northwestern University football coaches got a look at the progress on their new stadium Tuesday.
As construction crews worked, Offensive Coordinator Chip Kelly told reporters he’s impressed by the sightlines at Ryan Field that offer great views of the field from all three levels.
Head Coach David Braun bragged that it will be the best stadium in all of football.
The coaching staff and a few players were able to walk on the turf for their first time since it was installed last month.
Most of the 35,000 purple seats have been installed, as has one of the two video boards in the end zones of the $870m stadium.
There are just over ten weeks left before it’s slated to open with a Friday night game October 2 against Penn State.
