
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - One person was killed and 13 others injured in a crash involving a CTA bus Wednesday night in Washington Park, on Chicago’s South Side.
Chicago Police saw a vehicle potentially speeding and driving into oncoming traffic near 68th and State at around 7 p.m.
Chicago Police News Affairs said officers followed the white Jeep Laredo up State, to 60th Street, where it hit a black sedan at the intersection and then a CTA bus.
The driver of the sedan died at the hospital. Ten people from the bus, including the driver, were taken to the hospital, most with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they took three people from the Jeep into custody and recovered four guns. They were also injured.
The Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
