CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A pedestrian was killed late Thursday night on the Inbound Stevenson Expressway.
Illinois State Police said the person was fatally struck by a car on Inbound Stevenson near Damen Avenue at about 11:55 p.m. The person, for unknown reasons, was walking in the lanes at the time of the accident.
That portion of the Stevenson was shut down for nearly the next five hours as police conducted their investigation. All inbound traffic was diverted at California Avenue.
The lanes reopened at 4:45 a.m.
ISP’s investigation remains ongoing.
