Pride flags stolen in western suburb: police

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Police in west suburban Batavia are investigating the theft of Pride flags displayed outside residences.

Police said they received four reports Wednesday morning of Pride flags being stolen from the exteriors of homes on Creek Lane, Houston Street and Church Road. The thefts were believed to have occurred overnight.

In addition, authorities said, flag poles and mounts were damaged.

Batavia Police ask residents to check their security cameras and call 630-454-2500 if they have footage of the crimes.
