CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - For the first time in five years, Mick Jagger will be strutting on a Chicago stage.
The Rolling Stones have announced a 16-city North American tour for next year, and it includes a stop in Chicago. The Rolling Stones will perform June, 27, 2024 at Soldier Field.
The planned tour is in conjunction with the iconic band’s new album, “Hackey Diamonds,” their first studio set of new material since 2005.
Tickets will go on sale on Dec. 1 at 10 a.m.
Mick and company said fans should expect to hear their most popular hits, like “Start Me Up” and “Satisfaction” as well as songs from their new album.
The Stones’ connection to the Windy City dates back nearly 60 years. Their first U.S. recording session took place at Chicago’s old Chess Records in 1964, according to the Chicago Tribune. A few months later, the band performed at the Arie Crown Theater.
They’ve been frequent visitors ever since. From rocking out at the International Amphitheatre in 1972 to entertaining Soldier Field crowds of 60,000 in 2019, the Rolling Stones have performed all over the city.
AARP is sponsoring “Stones Tour ‘24 Hackney Diamonds.”
