PARK RIDGE, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police say armed robbers who struck outside a suburban grocery store and casino Sunday night have been arrested.
Park Ridge police said three males held up two people leaving the Mariano's on Cumberland at about 10 p.m. One of the robbers was holding a gun as he demanded the victims' wallets and phones.
Police said the thieves took off in a waiting white and black Jeep Compass. During their investigation, police said they learned the same car was involved in an armed robbery at the Rivers Casino parking lot in Des Plaines five minutes before.
On March 10, police said two people were robbed at gunpoint at the same Mariano's and three at the same casino by three gunmen in a Nissan Rogue. Park Ridge police said the males in the Jeep were taken into custody in Chicago.
