CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Governor Pritzker was on hand as a Chicago tech company cut the ribbon for his spanking new headquarters in downtown Chicago.
Stan Chia, the CEO of the online tickets marketplace Vivid Seats, was overjoyed to welcome dignitaries and employees to the new offices at 24 East Washington Street.
“This is where we were born, raised and will continue to grow, here in Chicago,” Chia said.
Among those there to help cut the ribbon on Vivid Seats new headquarters on east Washington Street was Samir Mayekar, Chicago’s deputy mayor for economic development.
“This headquarters, what it represents, is over 250 employees working here in the Loop. This is a representation of our economic recovery,” Myekar said.
Governor Pritzker praised the company for its record sales. He reminded the crowd that he helped develop the City’s tech industry before he became governor.
“Springfield is an awful long way from this building and it’s challenging sometimes when I love something like the tech community in Chicago, and I’m hoping that all the work that we’re doing is benefiting the growth of this community,” said Prizker.
The Governor said he’s a Vivid Seats customer for his entertainment tickets and praised the company app.
