WHEATON (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Residents of a large apartment complex in Wheaton were told to stay inside for about four hours Wednesday night while police dealt with a barricade situation.

There was a large police presence at the TGM Danada Apartments on Kensington Circle starting at about 6:30 p.m. People were told to avoid the area.

Thirty minutes later residents were told not to go outside and to shelter in place. It wasn’t until about 10 p.m. that residents were informed, via social media, that police were dealing with what they called “a barricaded subject in an isolated incident.”

At about 10:30 p.m., police said, the incident ended peacefully, with the person having been taken into custody.

They’ve offered no other details about the incident. They said they’d release more information when they can.
