
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police are looking for the suspect in a South Side shooting Wednesday night that left one person dead.
Officers responded to 31st Street beach shortly after 10 p.m for a report of shots fired.
Victims included a 22-year-old woman. She was shot three times in the chest and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. She later died.
The second victim, a 20-year-old woman, was shot once in the thigh and was transported to the hospital in good condition.
Wednesday night’s incident comes just days after a shooting at 63rd Street Beach on the South Side in which three people were wounded, including a 14-year-old-girl.
This morning, Mayor Brandon Johnson is set to announce the expansion of a pilot program where the City financially assists gun violence survivors.
