NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Two people were killed and four injured Monday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Washington Heights that flipped a stolen car onto its side and smashed two SUVs.

The FDNY received a call shortly after 6:30 a.m. about the chaotic collision at W. 179th Street and Audubon Avenue.

Three patients were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, while another three were taken to Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

They are believed to have been among five young people—all between the ages of 12 and 17—that were in a Hyundai Elantra that flipped on its side. The vehicle was reported stolen from the neighborhood on Sunday, police said.

The sixth victim was in a Jeep that was struck by the Hyundai. They were said to be in stable condition at a hospital.

Video from the scene shows the heavily damaged Hyundai flipped on its side and debris and glass scattered on the sidewalk outside a smoke shop on Audubon Avenue.

The Jeep and another SUV had major front-end damage.

The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad was at the scene as an investigation continued.

Witnesses described young people driving erratically in the area before the crash.
