NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – A man was charged Tuesday in the death of a 15-year-old boy who was shot in Manhattan three months ago, police said.
Shane Lloyd, of Queens, was hit with charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police believe Lloyd, 33, was the gunman who shot Amir James, of the Bronx, in East Harlem on the night of May 31. James was reportedly out picking up food with his sister near Lexington Avenue and E. 123rd Street at the time.
He was one of two people shot; a 30-year-old man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police released surveillance video of a suspect in June as they searched for the gunman.
According to the Daily News, police were able to link Lloyd to James' killing after he was arrested in July and sent to Rikers Island in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Queens last year.
