Former NBA head coach Sam Mitchell joined the Midday Show with Andy and Randy to discuss that infamous 81-point night Kobe had against his Raptors.
It was the second-greatest scoring performance in NBA history.
"We were trying to win that game," Mitchell said. "And throughout that game, we was (sic) throwing everything at him. And I remember after the game, and later on, he and I were talking about it, (he said) 'I don't care what you would've done that night. It was just my night.'"
"We threw everything at him. And the thing that separated him, he loved the fact that it was hard, and it wasn't easy...he reveled in the fact that it took 81 (points) to beat us, and he had to play at that level in order to win that game. And it was hard."
