Over the course of the last decade or so, it seems that the rest of the country is realizing what we Upstate natives already knew, and that is that Greenville is a happening place. Census info shows that Greenville has had a population increase of over 70,000 people between 2010 and 2019. That is a population increase of over 16% in that time period. Greenville was recognized as the one of the 10 fastest growing cities in the United States. Horry County is the only county in the state that has had more population growth in that span than Greenville. There is future growth coming as well, as it seems developments are popping up everywhere around the city. It already seems that Greenville has outgrown its infrastructure. There is a plan to build an extension to Woodruff Road to alleviate some of the traffic issues, but that project won't be completed until 2027 at the earliest, according to the Greenville County Council. So, with that said is Greenville growing too fast for its infrastructure to keep pace? Let us know below.
