A crash involving a tanker truck has shutdown a stretch of highway in the Western North Carolina Mountains. Jackson County Officials say, a propane tanker crashed on Highway 64 West near Cashiers, early Wednesday morning.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the crash. The wreck has resulted in Highway 64 being closed at the intersection of Rhody Lane.
Officials say that stretch of highway will not re-open until Thursday afternoon at the earliest. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes.
Officials have not said whether winter weather was a factor in the crash.
