A protest was held Sunday against mask and vaccine mandates, with many specifically referencing Biden's proposed mandate for federal employees.

This was the second weekly protest, which Dakota Fitzgerald, the Second Vice Chair of the Greenville County Republican Party said are scheduled to continue for several more weeks.

"This event is not only to represent the individuals who feel they are being infringed upon, their right to choose their medical treatment, but also their right to medical freedom," Fitzgerald said. "We are not at all advocated pro-vax or anti-vax, pro-mask or anti-mask. We are advocating for anti-mandate."

One protestor said the point of the protest was to make their concerns known to Governor McMaster and others at the state level.

"We are here to reach out to Governor McMaster and our AG to let them know we don't want any forced mandates," she said. "That means none, no businesses, nothing. We're asking them to stand up for their citizens and protect us from federal overreach."
