A suspect is facing child sex crime charges after an investigation in Western North Carolina. The Transylvania County Sheriff's Office says 20 year old Alan Jay Perez was arrested, Tuesday on charges of 2nd and 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The NCSBI assisted in the investigation and officials say Perez possesses and duplicated files depicting child sex abuse. The victim was said to be somewhere between 13 and 15 years old.
