They say the best ideas come when someone is focused on another task like driving, or showering. Apparently sitting on the toilet can be added to that list. AC/DC guitarist Angus Young recently revealed he thought of the song ‘Highway to Hell’ while sitting on the toilet during a bathroom break.

During a recent interview, Angus Young discussed how one of AC/DC’s most iconic songs came to be, and the story surprised many. After explaining the process of how he and late AC/DC co-founder and guitarist Malcolm Young came up with the music before lyrics, Young explained the break quickly inspired the song’s lyrics, according to NME. “I went to the toilet, and then I was in the toilet and I was there and I’m sitting and thinking. And I’m just sitting on the throne more or less. And then I go, ‘I think I’ve got it. I’ve got it. I’ve got it. I’ve got the idea in my head,’” said Young.

Fans were stunned by this revelation, with many wondering if an unpleasant bathroom experience led to the song’s title. While most today use their bathroom time to scroll through social media on their phone, just remember; that time could be used to write an iconic song.
