Every year in Texas, Jeep owners descend to Galveston for "Jeep Weekend," where Jeep owners gather for a few days of fun.
It began as a small group of Jeep enthusiasts, but as of late has grown to more than 100,000 people visiting Galveston every year.
As such, Galveston police had a busy weekend, arresting 275 individuals, 52 of which on felony charges, and confiscating 42 firearms.
As more people attend Jeep Weekend, the area has seen an increase in crime.
According to ABC 13 Houston, arrests at the event increased by 87.2 percent from 2019 to 2023, and last year, several local businesses decided to close rather than deal with the chaos.
