A library would be nothing without their librarian, and luckily for the Arlington Public Library they have a pretty good one. Yuliana Aceves was recently given a national award by the American Library Association, beating out more than 1,300 other nominees. Thanks to her work with the community, Aceves is getting the recognition she deserves.

Along with her duties working for the Arlington Public Library, Aceves has gone above and beyond helping the community as a source of bilingual assistance for families in the Arlington area. “My favorite thing is reaching people that libraries aren’t just a building with books. We are a place for people to connect and learn. If we can’t help them, we can find an organization that can help them,” said Aceves. Thanks to her work, Aceves won the 2022 “I Love My Librarian” award.
