A lot of older generations just worry about how much time kids these days spend on the computer or iPad. You can't go anywhere without a child being glued to their devices.
That's not necessarily a bad thing though. For many of these kids, they might just be getting a head start on their chosen career path.
At just four-years-old, Lashcoka Thompson's Pre-K class at Plummer Elementary in Cedar Hill are already being taught the basics of computer programming! Ms. Thompson uses a tiny toy bee and frog to teach the basics of coding.
She explained to NBC DFW, "I initially introduced Froggy to the students as a classroom management tool. If Froggy doesn't listen, Froggy's not going to be able to complete a task I'd like him to do."
However, Ms. Thompson soon found that behavior wasn't such an issue for this class, but they did want to know how and why Froggy followed commands. So, Ms. Thompson said 'Alright' and started teaching the kids to code!
We still can't figure out how to set up our Wi-Fi, and these kids are already coding!
