Getting stuck in traffic is always frustrating, no matter what the cause is. While many expect to see an accident at the end of the traffic, in most cases the congestion on the road is caused by construction crews limiting the amount of lanes. Sadly for those that use I-635 on their daily commute, they may want to find a new route, as construction on the highway this week is expected to affect multiple DFW cities.
Since the spring of 2020 TxDOT has been on a mission to improve both safety and mobility across an 11-mile stretch of highway on I-635 that reaches from U.S. 75 to I-30. The project isn’t expected to be complete until 2024, and while the work will eventually make the highway better, many have dealt with traffic delays due to the construction. Now, delays will be back as more construction gets underway.

According to Dallas Morning News, the construction will affect parts of Dallas, Garland and Mesquite as construction takes place both at night and during the day.
