Technology has come a long way over the last few years. Thanks to the internet, products already purchased are able to be updated and made better, without having to upgrade to a new model. However, not every update is perfect and sometimes they may cause issues, like in the case of iRobot; who have been receiving complaints from customers about “drunk” Roomba vacuums since their latest update.

As seen on social media, a number of i7 and s9 models of the popular vacuum have been experiencing issues, mainly performing erratically, and leading to many comparing it to drunken behavior. “It will bang itself against the same wall 20 times before moving on," said one commenter. According to USA Today, updates to fix the issue will be rolled out over the next few weeks.

“We've worked with impacted customers to roll their robot’s software back, and we are also implementing an update to ensure any similar issues are avoided moving forward," said iRobot. While many were entertained at first by their vacuum’s odd behavior, many are hoping the issue is soon resolved. If not, they may have to bust out the manual vacuum and do the work themselves.
