Downtown Dallas has a new park with a giant elm tree nicknamed "Chuck Norris"

The city of Dallas has made a concerted effort to build more parks within the city limits, which include all sorts of amenities and attractions.

Did you know one of Dallas' newest parks even features Chuck Norris?

Not really, but Harwood Park, which will open to the public September 23 has a large, centuries-old elm tree smack dab in the middle of it which has been nicknamed "Chuck Norris."

Why you ask?  According to the Dallas Morning News, construction teams bestowed the nickname upon the tree because it "seemed impossible to kill."

The 3.8-acre park is just blocks from the Farmers Market, in what developers are calling the "East Quarter," and also features two 18-foot tall powder-coated steel play structures that resemble mammoths!
