The holiday season is in full swing, which means it’s also the time of the year people do most of their online shopping. While ordering gifts online is easy and convenient, it can also lead to a number of cybersecurity issues. Luckily for shoppers in DFW, the city of Dallas recently launched a free mobile app that is designed to help protect against cybersecurity threats.

“Dallas Secure” is a new mobile security application created by the city of Dallas in partnership with Dallas-based “Zimperium.” According to Business Wire, the app equips mobile devices with the technology needed to automatically analyze threats while operating under a strict privacy policy and layers of technical controls that ensure user privacy is respected. “This app will help inform our residents about cybersecurity in a way that makes it easy to understand, which will empower them to take steps to protect their digital privacy,” said Genesis Gavino, Chief of Staff, City of Dallas.
