While Dallas and Fort Worth are often tied together, there is a bitter rivalry between the two cities. Residents of both cities are quick to claim their city as the best, yet they remain linked together as DFW. Now, the two cities have been tied together once again, this time thanks to their zoos, as one week after the Fort Worth Zoo announced the birth of a new baby elephant, the Dallas Zoo announced they have a new baby elephant as well.

On Wednesday, the Dallas Zoo unveiled their new baby elephant for the first time. According to CBS Texas, the African Elephant was born on February 26, and has remained behind the scenes with mother Mlilo ever since. Of course, the news of this baby elephant comes just one week after the Fort Worth Zoo announced one of their elephants recently gave birth.

Giving the rivalry even more ammunition, the Dallas Zoo announced their new elephant weighs 290 pounds, 20 pounds more than the Fort Worth Zoo’s elephant. The zoo claims they will announce a name for their new elephant next week. Soon, guests will be able to visit both and decide for themselves which is the baby elephant champ.
