After KFC announced they were moving their headquarters to Plano, Governor Greg Abbott called for the restaurant to change their name to TFC, Texas Fried Chicken.
That appears to have created a trend.
Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick recently proposed changing the name of the New York strip steak to "Texas strip steak," in which he says is to promote Texas beef producers.
Patrick made the declaration last week, and according to WFAA, went so far as to bring it to the Texas senate.
Patrick wrote on X, "We promote the Texas brand on everything made or grown in Texas because it benefits our economy and jobs."
