Every year around the holidays, musicians bust out covers of their favorite Christmas songs, but last year Dave Grohl decided to change things up; instead covering songs by Jewish artists for Hanukkah. Now, Grohl is back for some more covers as part of his “Hanukkah Sessions” series. The first for 2021 is a cover of Lisa Loeb’s ‘Stay (I Missed You),’ and Grohl definitely made sure the video was as interesting as the song.
On the first night of Hanukkah this year, Dave Grohl shared his new cover of the beloved Lisa Loeb song, but it was his attire in the video that really got the fans’ attention. In the video that has since gone viral, Grohl alternates between scenes of him wearing a dress; softly singing the beginning to each verse, and scenes of him screaming the lyrics. Since being shared, the video has been viewed over 94,000 times.
According to Consequence, Grohl is joined by producer Greg Kurstin for his “Hanukkah Sessions” series. Last year, Grohl shared covers of ‘Sabotage’ by Beastie Boys, ‘Hotline Bling’ by Drake, ‘Mississippi Queen’ by Mountain and more. Now fans will have to wait and see what songs come over the next seven nights.
