Study names Whataburger the “best value” fast food burger chain in the nation

The price of Whataburger has definitely gone up over the years, but according to a new study from NetCredit found that you’ll find the best bang-for-your-buck meal at Texas’ favorite fast food chain.

NetCredit’s research found that consumers offer the largest patty for the most inexpensive price at $1.66 per ounce of meat.

By far, that is the most inexpensive patty for the amount you get, among the 14 fast food chains analyzed.

The full rankings are as follows:

1 - Whataburger – $1.66/oz
2 - McDonald’s – $1.91/oz
3 - Smash Burger – $1.96/oz
4 - Burger King – $1.99/oz
5 - Wendy’s – $2.21/oz
6 - Culver’s – $2.22/oz
7 - Shake Shack – $2.27/oz
8 - Dairy Queen – $2.38/oz
9 - Carl’s Jr. – $2.39/oz
10 - Jack in the Box – $2.45/oz
11 - Sonic Drive-In – $2.46/oz
12 - In-N-Out Burger – $2.91/oz
13 - A&W – $3.13/oz
14 - Five Guys - $3.59/oz

Whataburger didn’t do so well in the best value French fries ranking, coming in at No. 12.

Shake Shack took the top spot there.
