The Santander Tower, Comerica Bank Tower, and Bryan Tower in downtown Dallas along with Fort Worth's Oil & Gas building, Star-Telegram Building, and the former Oncor building, once full of businesses and employees are all being converted to apartment buildings.
It's a growing trend across the nation as working from home is just the norm now, and few places does that trend exist more than in DFW.
According to a new from RentCafe, to DFW is the No. 3 metro in the nation where offices are being converted into multifamily residences.
3,163 apartments are currently being converted from old office buildings in DFW, surpassed only by 5,820 units in Washington D.C. and 5,215 units in New York City.
Currently, 82.5% of upcoming apartment conversions in DFW are coming from old office buildings. The remaining 15% is coming from converting hotels, and 3% from repurposing old factories.
