Every summer, as the temperatures rise, mosquitos begin to swarm throughout DFW. While many try sprays and other treatments to get rid of the insects, inevitably one will get bit before the season ends. Now, a new study has ranked DFW 6th on their top 50 mosquito cities list, and many are shocked the metroplex wasn’t higher.
Pest control company Orkin recently conducted a study to find which cities in America use the most residential and mosquito treatments. While a number of big cities made the cut, the only Texas city in the top 10 was DFW at number six, according to CW33. The metroplex was actually two sports lower on the list than it was last year.

Overall, the top mosquito city in the country was Los Angeles. “We’re already fighting the mosquito front by helping protect customers across the country with our mosquito services, but we’re committed to doing more,” said Orkin President Freeman Elliott. Hopefully one day DFW will be out of the top 10, and people will no longer worry about mosquito bites all summer.
