Over the last few years, DFW has gained quite a few new residents as more and more people relocate to the area. It appears those numbers aren't slowing down either as a new report claims the metroplex is still one of the hottest markets for relocating homebuyers. The report ranked DFW 10th on their list of the most popular metros in the country for relocating.
Real estate platform Redfin recently unveiled their list of the top metros for relocating homebuyers, and unsurprisingly North Texas was included. According to their research, 4,964 users relocated to the Dallas area in the second quarter. Surprisingly, this was down from last year when 7,458 users moved to DFW during the same period last year, according to Dallas Culture Map.
The only other Texas city on the list was San Antonio at number nine, with Miami topping the list. "Homebuyers are seeking out less expensive locales like Tampa and San Antonio, partly because the surging cost of housing and … goods is limiting their ability to buy homes in many U.S. cities," said Taylor Marr, deputy chief economist at Redfin. While DFW's numbers have gone down, this list shows people are still finding reason to move here.
