One of the biggest complaints people have about going to the movie theaters is how much it costs to see a film these days. Luckily for those willing to wait a little bit of time to see a movie, there was always the dollar movie theater as an option. Sadly, that is no longer the case in DFW as the metroplex’s last remaining dollar movie theater has officially shut their doors for good.

It was announced this week that Cinemark Hollywood USA Movies 15 in Garland was “permanently closed.” The announcement was made on the 15-screen movie theater's official page on the Cinemark website and its Facebook page. Many locals were disappointed as the theater in Garland had been around since 1992.

“The closure of the Hollywood USA Movies 15 theatre is normal course of business and the result of the careful and ongoing review of our theatre fleet,” said a Cinemark representative. According to Dallas Observer, the theater has been closed since some time in December. Hopefully one day a dollar movie theater comes back to DFW.
