There are many aspects of the ‘Star Wars’ universe fans wish they could experience in real life. However, if forced to pick one most would likely go with a lightsaber. While there have been plenty of toy and replica versions of the iconic prop on the market over the years, Disney has revealed they have finally created the real thing.
During Disney’s recent 'A Special Look Inside Disney Parks' virtual event Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro closed out the presentation with a mic drop moment. D’Amaro seemingly pulled a colorful blade out of thin air, exclaiming “it’s real.” According to WDWNT, the “real” lightsabers are expected to be used at Disney theme parks in the future.
Many fans began speculating about the lightsabers shortly after the announcement, with some believing they could be seen at the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel. It is unknown when fans will finally be able to get their hands on one of these real lightsabers. However, when they do they will be happy to know they no longer have to make the lightsaber noise on their own.
