Pearl Jam and Motley Crue are two of the biggest bands in rock history, but it seems the two won’t be sharing a stage any time soon. During a recent interview, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder took a shot at Motley Crue, leading to a response from Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx. Now, fans are wondering where this war of words will go next.
While promoting his upcoming solo album, ‘Earthling,’ Eddie Vedder discussed his era of rock compared to the generation before grunge took over. The singer slammed the “bands that monopolized late-'80s MTV” naming Motley Crue specifically. “Girls, Girls, Girls' and Motley Crue: [expletive] you. I hated it. I hated how it made the fellas look. I hated how it made the women look. It felt so vacuous,” said Vedder.

Of course, Motley Crue had to respond, as Nikki Sixx took to Twitter to slam Vedder back. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, Sixx wrote “Now considering that they’re one of the most boring bands in history it’s kind of a compliment isn’t it?” Hopefully these bands can make up, but if not; we now have another celebrity boxing match to look forward to.
