Disney is responsible for some of the greatest animated films of all time, but often it’s not just the storytelling that attracts audiences, it’s the music as well. One of the most recent examples of this is the 2021 film ‘Encanto,’ which took home multiple trophies at the 65th Grammy Awards. Now, the music from the film will come to life later this year right here in DFW, as the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will perform the soundtrack alongside a screening of the film.
On July 10, tickets will go on sale for the two "Disney’s Encanto in Concert - Live to Film" shows coming to Fort Worth in December. According to WFAA, the shows will take place on December 15 and December 16 at Will Rogers Memorial Auditorium. At both shows the Academy Award-winning film will be shown in its entirety, with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra performing the score live.
The soundtrack for the movie features eight original songs by songwriter/composer Lin-Manuel Miranda. These songs won awards for Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, Score Soundtrack for Visual Media and Song Written for Visual Media at the 65th Grammy Awards. For fans of ‘Encanto,’ this is an event they won’t want to miss.
