They say the children are our future, but one DFW teen isn’t waiting until then to make her impact. Vivian Nguyen is a senior at Martin High School in Arlington with a number of entrepreneurial and philanthropic pursuits. Now, she is being honored by Forbes, being named to their list of “6 Teens Who Make The World A Better Place.”
While Arlington’s Vivian Nguyen is still a teenager, she has been making an impact on her community for a few years now. When she was 14 she started a clothing company called Dyenosaur Apparel that manufactures shirts for the National Agenda For Youth Initiative, with 50% of proceeds going to charity. According to CW33, she also started the Formula Project, which is a non-profit that provides mentorship for low-income minority underclassmen to get help developing interpersonal and professional skills.

“My mission is to uplift minority female youth. As a first-generation Vietnamese-American woman, I have witnessed a stark disparity in the representation of female people of color in the authority figures around me,” said Nguyen. Hopefully she continues on this path, helping the world and making DFW proud.
